KE Medical Group – Las Vegas closed its door for business as-of November 11th 2013. Closure occurred due to poor economic results and prospects that could not support its continued operation. During the three year history of the practice it never made a profit and instead, required millions of dollars in loans to sustain its operations; which millions of dollars were provided by a lender organized by the founders of the practice for the purpose of providing those loans. The majority owner of that lender, having funded the most recent $4,000,000 in loans recently concluded that he could no longer justify financial support of the practice. Without his support, there were no longer funds available to cover ongoing loses and maintain practice operations.
The practice facility was comprised of over 18,000 square feet of high-end medical offices and a complete diagnostic center most recently utilized by only six physicians. In addition to under-utilization and low productivity, the groups original business model contained many flaws that were simply not addressed within a timely manner as would have been required to allow for the practice’s survival.
Representatives for the lender are coordinating the management of all close-out affairs for the practice in coordination with its former physicians and staff.
